TECHNICAL STUDIES AND ANALYSES

We use several methods of examination and analysis to record the current condition and gain a better understanding of the works.

Being located in the Department of Conservation and Restoration from NOVA School of Science and Technology, we also have access to equipment and analytical instrumentation. With these resources and specific training, we perform characterization studies of techniques and materials of works of art.

Available equipment: µ-EDXRF | FTIR-ATR | Optical Microscope | µ-Raman | X-Ray | Anoxia

The use of these techniques allows us to identify the materials used in the works, to assess their condition more accurately, and as such, to define the best strategy for conservation and restoration.
